A New Delhi based startup that helps brands launch, track and analyse online campaigns had a small part to play in AAP’s success at the Delhi election today. The software platform developed by the startup helped AAP raise Rs 1.8 crore towards the total campaign donations the party received.
InviteReferrals, founded by Siddharth Gupta and Aman Gupta, helps brands launch and monitor online campaigns through email and other social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Google+ and Linkedin.
The startup claims to have helped AAP launch an online campaign and raise around 1.8 crore, which is around 10% of the Rs 18 crore in donations AAP received for the 2015 Delhi elections so far.
According to the service, in all 21,000 donors challenged their friends to donate to AAP online. 100,000 email invites for the campaign were sent and the campaign got over 10,000 shares on social media. The campaing reached over 1 million people and it resulted in AAP online receiving around Rs 1.8 crore in online donations.
The AAP launched their #iFundHonestParty challenge through the service asked each donor to challenge at least 10 more friends to make a donation towards AAP online. As a token of appreciation, a thank you note was sent to users for each referral donation through them and no monetary incentives were given.
